    This past weekend, the IBMA awards and showcase took over Nashville, TN. Artists and groups from all over the world traveled to The Historic Ryman Auditorium to join in a celebration of the best that bluegrass has to offer.     Pictured here is our good friend and endorsing artist Marc Pruett picking up his  Maple Vintage 35 from Murrell Thixton with Sullivan Banjo Company.   Marc put his new banjo right to work that Friday afternoon when Balsam Range hit the stage at the IBMA giving the audience a smoking hot performance.   • Jack Hicks to join Jerry Butler and the Blu-J’s on cruise

    Had the opportunity to catch up with Sullivan Banjo sponsored artist Jack Hicks and see what's going on with him.  Jack said he continues to work with Melvin Goins and Windy Mountain this winter.  They've been working shows in Eastern Ky and the surrounding area.  They'll soon be taping some new episodes of America's Bluegrass an all Bluegrass Gospel television show at the Paramount Theater in Ashland Ky.  If you live in the area be sure to try and catch a taping of the show.  From February...

    Sullivan Banjo sponsored artist Steve Dilling with IIIrd Tyme Out stopped by the shop today.  Steve, Russell  and the band were on their way to the Shepherdsville Kentucky Music Barn for a performance that evening.  Steve is currently playing one of the new Sullivan Vintage 35 Banjos in maple.  We had a great visit with the band and even got our very own Tony Wray of Sullivan Banjo Co. to sit down and pick a tune or two with them.  III Tyme Out is one of the elite groups in bluegrass, be...

    I was speaking on the phone with Sullivan Banjo sponsored artist Jack Hicks and I thought I'd fill folks in on the latest happenings.   Currently Jack has been filling in some dates with Melvin Goins and Windy Mountain.  Melvin (surviving brother of Ray Goins of the Goins Brothers)  hails from the Ashland area and is a Kentucky legand that has been on the national bluegrass scene for over 50 years.    Jack said lately they've been doing about 5 dates per week and the date book cont...
