    We just completed a new Greenbriar for our dealer First Quality Music in Louisville, Ky.  Their customer Shawn Murphy from St. Augustine, Florida, an owner of a Sullivan Vintage 35, wanted to add a Classic to his collection.  After some discussions with Sullivan Banjo's Tony Wray they decided to add a few "extra" touches to make this banjo a special tribute to Shawn's Dad.  A little Granada style engraving, gold plating, engraved truss rod cover and a very special name block in Shawn's Da...

  • Jack Hicks to join Jerry Butler and the Blu-J’s on cruise

    Had the opportunity to catch up with Sullivan Banjo sponsored artist Jack Hicks and see what's going on with him.  Jack said he continues to work with Melvin Goins and Windy Mountain this winter.  They've been working shows in Eastern Ky and the surrounding area.  They'll soon be taping some new episodes of America's Bluegrass an all Bluegrass Gospel television show at the Paramount Theater in Ashland Ky.  If you live in the area be sure to try and catch a taping of the show.  From February...

  • Sullivan Banjo’s featured on Discovery Channel’s “How It’s Made”

    Back in the fall of 2007 the folks from the Discovery Channel's "How it's Made" series stopped in and spent a few days filming the production of a Sullivan Banjo from start to finish.   We think they did a fantastic job, and through the magic of editing (and a little fast motion) you get to see what would generally take four to five weeks in the course of 5 minutes.  We still  get comments about it when folks call in to place orders.  Thought we'd repost it in the event that someone wasn'...
