    We have the pleasure here at the Sullivan Banjo facility to share space with First Quality Music. Jim Smoak is on the teaching staff of the First Quality Music Academy and teaches banjo here every other Saturday. Jim has been playing banjo since the early 50's and thoughout his career has played with such greats as Bill Monroe and the Bluegrass Boys, Jimmy Dickens, Hylo Brown and the Timberlands.     Back in the fall of 2007 the folks from the Discovery Channel's "How it's Made" series stopped in and spent a few days filming the production of a Sullivan Banjo from start to finish.   We think they did a fantastic job, and through the magic of editing (and a little fast motion) you get to see what would generally take four to five weeks in the course of 5 minutes.  We still  get comments about it when folks call in to place orders.  Thought we'd repost it in the event that someone wasn'...

    Sullivan Banjo sponsored artist Steve Dilling with IIIrd Tyme Out stopped by the shop today.  Steve, Russell  and the band were on their way to the Shepherdsville Kentucky Music Barn for a performance that evening.  Steve is currently playing one of the new Sullivan Vintage 35 Banjos in maple.  We had a great visit with the band and even got our very own Tony Wray of Sullivan Banjo Co. to sit down and pick a tune or two with them.  III Tyme Out is one of the elite groups in bluegrass, be...
